Sausage spills onto I-494 after rush hour semi crash

Eden Prairie Police Department

Sausage spilled onto Interstate 494 in Eden Prairie after a semi full of meat somehow lost control and crashed into the median during the Monday morning commute.

Both the eastbound and westbound left lanes of I-494 were closed at Prairie Center Drive for about two hours but reopened around 10:30 a.m.

According to Minnesota State Patrol, the driver "had a medical episode and lost consciousness, but was not injured in the crash." He was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

A photo posted on Facebook by the Eden Prairie Police Department confirmed the truck was indeed carrying sausages. There were no injuries reported.

We have reached out to the Minnesota State Patrol for more details.
