What we know:

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 8:12 a.m. on Olsen Road East near Northwoods School.

The driver of a school bus was traveling on icy roads in the City of Cook when the bus slid off the roadway, struck nearby trees and came to a rest against a light pole.

First responders arrived at the scene, and two students were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were 31 students on board at the time of the crash, but no further injuries were reported among the students or the bus driver, according to the sheriff’s office.

The incident remains under investigation, but officials say icy road conditions are likely to be a factor in the crash.
