Eagan lake closed due to mystery illness

Despite a weekend of warm weather, park officials in Dakota County are keeping everyone out of the water at Schulze Lake in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Multiple swimmers there are fighting the effects of a mystery illness after going for a swim.

Schulze Lake in Eagan will reopen on Friday, a week after being closed following dozens of swimmers falling ill.

Dakota County Parks on Thursday said the lake and beach at Lebanon Hills Regional Park will reopen following guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health. The lake has been closed since June 2 after more than 60 swimmers reported getting sick with an illness consistent with norovirus infection.

Health officials are reminding people not to go swimming if they've been sick with vomiting or diarrhea in the last 72 hours.
