Search continues for missing swimmer
Ramsey County crews responded to Bald Eagle Lake, just north of White Bear Lake, around 8 p.m. Wednesday for the report of a man who had gone underwater in the lake and hadn't resurfaced.
WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP, Minn. (FOX 9) - Search crews are combing a lake in White Bear Township for a missing man.
Ramsey County crews responded to Bald Eagle Lake, just north of White Bear Lake, around 8 p.m. Wednesday for the report of a man who had gone underwater in the lake and hadn't resurfaced.
Steve Linders of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office told FOX 9 on Thursday the man they're searching for is 62-year-old Mark Lowell. Witnesses said he jumped off a pontoon boat to retrieve something from the water, went under, and didn't resurface.
Water Patrol boats were launched a short time later and searched until 1 a.m. Thursday. Search efforts are continuing at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the search, Linders said.
