Security data shows weapons confiscated at US Bank Stadium events

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - U.S. Bank Stadium security data requested by Fox 9 shows how many knives, guns and other weapons were kept out of the stadium during its first 6 months of operation.

During Minnesota Vikings preseason and regular season games, security confiscated 43 knives. There were no guns confiscated at the gates, but two firearms were checked into the stadium security gun lockers during the Vikings season.

Security confiscated 20 “other weapons” during Vikings home games, but “other weapons” is a broad definition that includes items like mace or even a flask filled with alcohol.

“These could be considered any of the prohibited items on our stadium security list that may be used to harm others,” a stadium spokesperson said in a statement.

U.S. Bank Stadium also hosted two soccer games, two concerts and two Monster Jam events during the period covered in the Fox 9 data request. During those events, security confiscated 52 knives and 74 “other weapons.” Four guns were checked into the security lockers at non-football events.
