STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. (KMSP) - A local business is signing on to fundraise for the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
According to a press release sent out by Sheriff John Sanner, SignMax offered to donate "We Support Law Enforcement" yard signs and sell them as a fundraiser.
Stearns County Sheriff's Office accepted the offer and is planning to use the proceeds to buy bulletproof vests for the uniformed non-licensed staff. There are about 80 uniformed staff that do not have bulletproof vests. These staff members work in the jail, court security and transport.
One vest costs $800 to $1,000. SignMax is donating all proceeds.
Yard signs, banners, and bumper stickers are available to buy at the Stearns County Sheriff's Office. Yard signs are $5, banners $10, and stickers $1.
