ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Two people have been arrested after their infant child died on Christmas Day in St. Paul – a death police suspect was caused by drugs.

What we know: Officers responded around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday to the report of a one-year-old child who was found unresponsive on 5th Street East near Earl Street in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood. St. Paul Fire medics transported the child to Regions Hospital, where the child was later pronounced dead.
What they're saying: Initially, the circumstances of the death were unclear. However, around 9:15 p.m., police announced they had arrested the child's parents on suspicion of manslaughter.
In a series of tweets, officers said: "Preliminary information indicates narcotics may have played a role in the child’s death. The investigation is ongoing, and no further updates are available at this time."
