Stolen foster dog returned to Robbinsdale family, suspect in custody

Shermie the dog has been safely returned to his family, they announced Monday night. According to the family, someone found him wandering around a St. Paul apartment complex.

That person couldn’t keep him so they gave him to the people who called. Those people got the $1,000 reward.

Robbinsdale police have one suspect in custody facing charges of first degree burglary

Shermie was stolen on May 31 after a burglary at their home on the 3900 block of Halifax Avenue North. Ruff Start Rescue offered a $1,000 reward for information, which was given to those who helped find him.

According to police, a suspect entered the home through an unlocked window while the family was inside and stole several items, including electronics, wallets, a vehicle and Shermie, the three-month-old boxer mix the family was fostering for Ruff Start Rescue.
