This California cat lady owns more than 1,000 cats
PARLIER, CA (FOX 11) - Lynea Lattanzio has given up her 4,200 square foot home to 800 adult cats and 300 kittens. Now she lives in a 1,600 square foot mobile home on the same 6-acre property, allowing all her cats to run freely through the home she once lived in.
Here's a video from Barcroft TV's YouTube Channel, where Lynea shares her story:
A generous donor left an heir to and estate, and those profits allowed her to expand her land to a total of 12 acres. She worked as a vet for many years to help take care of them at the facilities, eventually bringing in more volunteers.
Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no kill sanctuary located in Parlier, which is a town between Fresno and Visalia. She's been housing cats for the past 24 years and claims she's lived with 28,000 cats during that time. The sanctuary also houses a dozen dogs and a handful of peacocks.
There are 500 cats that are up for adoption, and you can visit the Cat House on the Kings site at cathouseonthekings.com. The sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, receives no government or public funding, and relies entirely on donations from the public.
