(KMSP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves teamed up with Nike to create new Statement Edition uniforms, the two announced Friday.
The uniforms are part of a 3 part collection including the Nike NBA Connected Jersey, Statement Edition uniforms and the Nike Therma Flex Showtime Warm-up Jacket.
The NBA Connected Jersey has an embedded near-field communication chip, which allows for "real-time team and player content such as pregame arrival footage, highlight packages and top players’ favorite music playlists all on the jersey owner’s mobile device."
To unlock the features, fans will download the NikeConnect app and tap the jersey with their smartphone.
The jerseys will be available online globally on Sept. 29.
The Statement Edition jersey is inspired by teams’ desire to "make a bold statement the moment they step on the court."
And with neon green, they'll do just that.
All Statement Edition jerseys will be available at retail on Nov. 20, and will begin being worn on-court on Nov. 25.
