MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A light wintry mix over the Twin Cities metro could create some isolated slick spots on roads during the Monday morning commute.
Twin Cities road conditions amid morning wintry mix
What we know: A low-pressure system is moving through Minnesota bringing light and patchy freezing drizzle, sleet or flurries. The light wintry mix could create isolated light slick spots on roadways before noon, but the slippery spots will be scattered.
The system will push off east, where a winter weather advisory is expected for areas of Wisconsin. The wintry mix will likely change to snow, though the amounts will be light. Road conditions could change, so give yourself extra time for travel.
As of 6 a.m., the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s website lists the major roadways in the Twin Cities as "normal" or having light ice. Check the latest road conditions and incident reports at 511mn.org.
