MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Freezing fog could create slick road conditions for drivers across Minnesota during Monday morning's commute.
Twin Cities road conditions
What we know: Much of Minnesota is under a dense fog advisory until noon on Monday. As temperatures hover around 32 degrees, freezing fog could create slippery spots on roads, especially on untreated surfaces, bridges and overpasses.
The Plymouth Police Department posted on X warning drivers of the slick road conditions after responding to a salt truck driver who encountered icy road conditions and spilled salt over the roadway.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation's website, as of 6:30 a.m., driving conditions in the Twin Cities metro are normal, though there is ice fog and visibility is at half a mile or less. Some roadways in southern and northern Minnesota are reportedly covered in ice or have light ice. You can check the latest road conditions at 511mn.org.
