MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Construction projects will cause some closures on I-35W and Highway 62 in the Twin Cities metro area in the coming weeks, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Starting Wednesday at 10 p.m. until Thursday 5 a.m., both directions will be closed on I-35W from Highway 62 to I-94. This same stretch of I-35W will also be closed next weekend from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22. The section will close again from Nov. 2 through Nov. 5 in order to demolish the 28th Street bridge.
The ramp from I-94 west to I-35W south will be closed from Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. through Monday, Oct. 22.
As part of the Highway 62 resurfacing project, westbound Highway 62 from Highway 55 to Highway 77 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15. Drivers will be detoured to Highway 5 west to I-494 west to Highway 77 north.
All closures are weather permitting and could be changed.
