EAGAN, Minn. (KMSP) - The Vikings cut 14 players from its roster Friday evening, including a Maple Grove, Minn. native a former Gopher and two men who faced legal trouble earlier this year.
Jake Wieneke, a rookie wide receiver from Maple Grove, was cut Friday. The South Dakota State product scored a pivotal touchdown and two-point conversion in last week’s preseason win against the Jaguars.
Former Gophers running back Kobe McCrary was also released Friday.
In addition, Cayleb Jones was cut from the team just days after he was arrested for domestic assault of girlfriend Tuesday afternoon in an Eagan hotel.
Antwione Williams, a third-year linebacker, was also cut. He was charged with a DWI earlier this year.
