It’s the start of a new era, with the Minnesota Vikings Training Camp no longer in Mankato and heavy hearts mourning the passing of offensive line coach Tony Sparano.

It's an obvious somber tone over in Eagan where rookie practices are set to begin Wednesday. Friday's practices have been canceled so the team can attend Tony Sparano's funeral service.

Amidst the heartbreak of dealing with Tony Sparano's death, the Vikings prepare for the opening of their museum and of training camp. Rookies report today and on Wednesday, the museum opens to fans with tickets.

The museum is filled with memorabilia from players and coaches themselves - some even directly from Bud Grant’s basement. Other articles came from fans who surprisingly donated their prized possessions.

"It was so important to us to get these stories told in a way that's not only relevant to the people who didn't live it, but the people who were there," said Vikings Director of Brand & Creative Erin Swartz.

The museum is open to training camp ticket holders during camp, then to the general public after that. The space will constantly be adding and changing, including tributes to those who have passed. Among them, Denny Green is honored and at the proper time, Tony Sparano.
