Wall collapses on vehicle in St. Paul, occupants not injured

Several people escaped a scary situation Friday morning after a wall collapsed onto their car in St. Paul, Minnesota.

According to Deputy Chief David Berger with the St. Paul Fire department, the collapse happened around 5 a.m. at 145 Sherburne Avenue. Authorities say that while they do not know what specifically caused the collapse, they suspect that it was triggered by the combination of the wall's deteriorated condition and the recent severe weather.

"It appears this was a deteriorated brick veneer and the weather last night finally compromised the veneer and it collapsed," Deputy Chief Berger said.

A restoration company is working on repairing the building.
