Woodbury knife attack: Community reacts

The residences of Woodbury are rattled after a man was attacked with a knife while walking around Markgrafs Lake in Woodbury Thursday afternoon. Police say they are no longer seeking anyone involved in the incident, but did not say if a suspect had been arrested.

Police say a man is in a serious condition after being attacked with a knife while walking at a Woodbury lake on Thursday afternoon. 

In an update Friday night, the Woodbury Police Department said their investigation found that the incident was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the community. Police also said they are not seeking any other people involved in the incident, but did not say if a suspect has been arrested. 

Law enforcement said officers responded to Markgrafs Lake around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday for a reported assault involving a knife

At the scene, officers found an injured man in his 70s, and he was transported to Regions Hospital. Police said the man was not able to provide details about the assailant, and he was in serious condition as of Thursday night. 

There has been no update on the man's condition as of Friday night.
