Minnesota Vikings unveil Color Rush uniforms
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The Minnesota Vikings have unveiled the very purple Color Rush uniforms the team will wear against the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 1, a Thursday Night Football matchup.
The Nike-designed uniforms have purple jerseys, purple pants, gold numbers and lettering and just a touch of gold piping on the shoulder pads and pants. The Vikings point out that the last time the team wore purple jerseys and purple pants was a 44-31 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 27, 2013.
The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills on will wear their Color Rush uniforms this Thursday. The NFL says it has fixed a problem from last season, when the Jets and Bills wore all-green and all-red uniforms, leaving viewers with red-green color-blindness (the most common type) unable to distinguish the teams.
The NFL sought the expert advice of an ophthalmologist, providing the doctor and his colleagues the color combinations for all 15 Color Rush games this season. The experts found three problematic games, and in those games the visiting team will wear all white.
