PJ Fleck Show: Gophers get ready for Nebraska out of bye week
MINNEAPOLIS - It’s Week 7 of the PJ Fleck Show on Fox 9 and the University of Minnesota football team is back from its bye week and getting ready to host Nebraska on Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium.
The Gophers are coming off a 20-13 win at Purdue, their second road win of the season and first Big Ten road win, but it came with a price as running back Trey Potts was hospitalized after the game with an undisclosed injury. Potts had 15 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown before having to leave the game late in the fourth quarter.
He was evaluated and immediately taken to a hospital, where he spent six days before returning to Minneapolis last Friday. Fleck said Monday he’s out for the rest of the season. Without Potts, Mar’Keise "Bucky" Irving, Ky Thomas and Bryce Williams will take over the Gophers’ run game. They’ll also look to wildcat quarterback Cole Kramer.
The Gophers host Nebraska at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the Cornhuskers are coming off a 32-29 loss to Michigan last Saturday.
Fleck joined Fox 9’s Hobie Artigue, Gophers’ analyst Ron Johnson and KFAN sideline reporter Justin Gaard to talk about the bye week, replacing Potts and getting ready for Nebraska.
