The next big step to complete U.S. Bank Stadium? Installing the turf, which began on Tuesday.

Made by UBU Sports, the synthetic turf is 132,000 square feet, which is just over 3 acres. It's composed of more than 135 million blades and 5,000 miles of fiber. Officials say it will take about three to four weeks to fully install.

According to the Vikings, it's the perfect solution for a safe playing surface and one that is adaptable for multi-event use. Vikings are the fifth NFL team that will play home games on the synthetic turf joining the Giants, Jets, Saints, and Bengals.
