Vikings survive Seahawks | Vikings Now podcast

The Minnesota Vikings came up clutch to win a tough game on the road in Seattle, as the race for the NFC turns into a two-team contest between Detroit and Minnesota.

The Minnesota Vikings are 13-2, have won eight straight and are chasing the No. 1 seed in the NFC Playoffs, and their defense has a lot to do with it.

They may give up some yards, but they generate turnovers at the most critical times. And they celebrate the heck out of it when they get a takeaway, and they’ve gotten at least one in every game this season. The orchestrators of the celebrations? Safety Cam Bynum and Josh Metellus, who has played virtually every position on the defense this year.

Sunday, they unveiled their latest sensation.

Camp Rock Dance goes viral

What happened? Theo Jackson intercepted Geno Smith to seal Sunday’s win, and the entire defense immediately ran to the end zone to celebrate. They reincarnated a dance from "Camp Rock," a 2008 Disney musical.

Bynum shared a video on social media of the team practicing the celebration at their hotel before Sunday’s game.

"Got another great celebration. Wasn’t expecting that. Hadn’t really seen Camp Rock before, so it was a first time. Looks like a good dance," Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores said Tuesday.

Even New York Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers took notice on the Pat McAfee Show.

"They did the Parent Trap one, they did White Chicks. It’s impressive, they spend a lot of their time doing those impressions," Rodgers said. "Bynum has to be one of the ring leaders because he’s been a part of every one of those. Coming up big being a leader, love it."

Parent Trap handshake

The context: Bynum gave a nod to the movie "Parent Trap," when the Vikings beat the New York Jets in London. After an interception, he and Metellus did a handshake from the movie, which was done in London. Bynum said they watched the movie on the plane ride and got the inspiration.

Vikings execute ‘White Chicks’ dance

The dance: Two weeks ago, Bynum and Metellus pulled off a dance from the movie "White Chicks" after an interception. Since it was in the middle of a three-game homestand, Bynum and Metellus practiced the dance at TCO Performance Center.

They had their struggles preparing, but when it was showtime, the executed it flawless, with Metellus using his hands to flip Bynum over.

Raygun dance

What happened? Bynum also paid tribute to Australian break dancer Raygun with a dance from the Olympics after an interception this season. Bynum has three interceptions this season.

What’s next?

What we know: The Vikings have to generate a turnover on Sunday against the Packers to do another celebration, and Bynum is getting plenty of suggestions on social media. We’ll have to wait to find out.
