Vikings clean out lockers after playoff loss

Vikings players Justin Jefferson, Shaq Griffin, Harrison Phillips and Blake Cashman spoke from the locker room at TCO Performance Center on Tuesday after being eliminated from the NFC Playoffs Monday night against the L.A. Rams.

The Minnesota Vikings’ season is over after a 27-9 loss to the L.A. Rams in the NFC Wild Card Playoffs.

After finishing the regular season 14-3 and taking second in the NFC North Division, we now know their home and road opponents for the 2025 season. There are a few storylines that come with both who the Vikings host at U.S. Bank Stadium, and what road trips they’ll take.

Vikings 2025 Home opponents

What we know: The Vikings will host the Packers, Bears, Lions, Eagles, Commanders, Ravens, Bengals and Falcons in 2025.

What we don't know: Where in the schedule these games will fall. The NFL will do its schedule release in May.

Eagles – It feels like the Vikings always get scheduled to face the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, an atmosphere that’s a tad hostile for visiting fans. In 2025, the Vikings get them here in Minneapolis. They’re the No. 2 seed for the NFC Playoffs.

Commanders – The Vikings get a visit from Jayden Daniels, this year’s No. 2 overall pick and former LSU star. Daniels has thrown for more than 3,500 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, helping lead a once dysfunctional franchise to the NFC Divisional Playoffs.

Ravens – MVP candidate Lamar Jackson comes to town next season with the Baltimore Ravens. He’ll be joined by former University of Minnesota star receiver Rashod Bateman, who has 756 receiving yards and nine touchdowns this season.

Bengals – Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase come to U.S. Bank Stadium in an LSU reunion with Justin Jefferson.

Falcons – The Vikings and Kirk Cousins have already had their reunion, and now he’s likely going to be cut after the season. Michael Penix Jr. will be the next challenge for Minnesota’s defense.

Vikings 2025 Road opponents

What we know: The Vikings will have road games against the Packers, Bears, Lions, Cowboys, Giants, Steelers, Browns, Seahawks and Chargers.

What we don't know: How long the road trips will be. We'll find out when the NFL releases the schedule for all teams.

Cowboys – The Vikings head to AT&T Stadium to face Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and whoever replaces Mike McCarthy.

Giants – If the Vikings keep Daniel Jones on their roster in 2025, it could be the first time he faces his former team, back in front of his old crowd.

Steelers – The Vikings head to Pittsburgh to face old friend Mike Tomlin, who is in his 18th year as head coach of the Steelers after being the Vikings’ defensive coordinator.

Browns – The Vikings went to Cleveland for joint practices with the Browns during training camp this year. Next year, they got former offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski in a regular season game.

Seahawks – Sam Darnold led the Vikings to a dramatic win at Seattle this year with a late touchdown to Justin Jefferson. Can they do it again at Lumen Field?

Chargers – The Vikings played the L.A. Rams at SoFi Stadium this year. Next year, they get Justin Herbert, Jim Harbaugh and the L.A. Chargers. Don’t forget, Harbaugh was a candidate for the Vikings’ job before Kevin O’Connell took it.
