The Minneapolis City Council will vote on a controversial measure on Thursday that has drawn ire from the business community. The proposal, which would create a Labor Standards Board, would task a 15-member panel with making recommendations to the city council and mayor about wages, benefits, working conditions and other regulations.
Mothership Pizza opens in Edina

Fine art gallery opens in former Brothers Bar space
Two years ago, Brothers Bar & Grill, a downtown Minneapolis spot popular with the college crowd, closed its doors. On Sept. 30, it reopens as a fine art gallery. The entire building has undergone a change with the Kickernick Gallery in the front corner space, a future restaurant in the basement and rental space available for artists to use as a studio. The gallery features 12 local artists and is bringing art back to downtown Minneapolis. The gallery is located at 430 N. 1st Avenue and will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
