Elsa Segura resentenced in Minneapolis realtor's death

Elsa Segura pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of kidnapping for her role in the death of 28-year-old Monique Baugh, a Minneapolis real estate agent. The family of Monique Baugh, a real estate agent who was murdered in 2019, spoke outside of the Hennepin County courthouse after Elsa Segura entered a guilty plea for kidnapping in exchange for a 20-year sentence. Segura was previously serving a life sentence for her role in the crime, but the Minnesota Supreme Court overturned the conviction.

Elsa Segura to enter plea, be resentenced

Elsa Segura is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday to enter a new plea and be sentenced in the death of Relator Monique Baugh. Segura was initially sentenced to life in prison, but the Minnesota Supreme Court overturned her conviction earlier this year. She was scheduled to head to trial in October but has since reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
