MN House passes significant education bill
The Minnesota state house passed a bill last week, which supporters are calling historic. The education bill passed with a 69-61 vote. It would include requiring schools to have rules around student cell phone use and have schools educate students on mental health from grades four through graduation. School boards would also have the option to implement a four-day school week, and the bill also protects school newspapers from censorship concerns. The possibility of a four-day school week has some parents asking the most questions. One of the sponsors of the bill, Rep. Laurie Pryor (DFL-Minnetonka) stopped by the Fox 9 Morning News on Sunday to answer some of those questions.
