Stone Arch Bridge Festival this weekend

The Stone Arch Bridge Festival returns to this weekend to the Minneapolis riverfront. There will be 225 artists, two live music stages, more than 30 food vendors, two beer gardens and a vintage and vinyl market. New this year, there will be a public art installation called 100 Feet of Art and History. It combines the work of six local artists and it’s located on West River Parkway behind the Mill City Museum. The festival takes place on June 15 and June 16 along West River Parkway between North 4th Avenue and South 11th Avenue. It is free to attend.

Artisan Home Tour features Wayzata stunner

Nearly two dozen of the Twin Cities' most incredible new and remodeled homes will be open for exploring over the next two weekends as part of the Artisan Home Tour. The homes stretch all the way east to Afton, south to Prior Lake and west to Independence. Home No. 5 on the tour is in Wayzata and boasts a Beauty and Beast two-story library plus several secret doors, one of which leads to a home theater. The homes are open from noon-6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through June 23rd. The four remodeled homes are open on the final weekend only. Tickets are required ahead of time to enter the homes and can be purchased online, at the door or at Bachman’s.

New build in Orono on the Artisan Home Tour

The latest and greatest in home design is on display this weekend and next as part of the Artisan Home Tour. There are 23 homes on the tour, 19 new builds and four remodeled homes. Home No. 6 is in Orono. The contemporary home features floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views and a lower-level sanctuary with a yoga room, sauna and steam shower. The homes are open from noon-6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through June 23. The four remodeled homes are open on the final weekend only. Tickets are required to enter the homes and can be purchased online, at the door or at Bachman’s.

Chuthulu! The Musical at the Turf Club

Music, madness, and puppets combine for a unique show launching their tour in St. Paul. Puppeteers for Fears presents Chuthulu! The Musical. Two cast members and the show's art director joined FOX 9 Good Day to talk about the show and how the idea came together.

Including your pets in severe weather plans

Severe weather season has arrived in Minnesota. Hopefully you have a severe weather plan in place for your family, but do those plans include your pets? Fed holds rates steady

On the economic front, interest rates will go unchanged. It's not the news consumers were hoping to come out of the Federal Reserve's meeting this month. MotoAmerica Superbike race in Brainerd

The Brainerd International Raceway is hosting the 10th Anniversary MotoAmerica Superbike Races this coming weekend. Racer, Justin Miest stopped by FOX 9 Good Day to share what it’s like to hit speeds close to 180mph. Miest is from Cannon Falls, so he loves racing on his home track. He also shared some of what fans can expect for the event June 14-16, including getting up close to bikes and racer, and even a chance to go for a ride. Practices will be Friday, followed by races Saturday and Sunday.

The City of Brooklyn Park is hosting a big celebration this weekend to mark Juneteenth. The theme for the third annual event is black art, health and healing. Event organizer Dr. Marcellus Davis joined FOX 9 Good Day along with featured artist Ella to talk about what they have planned this year.

Battle of the Badges boxing event

Police officers, firefighters, and first responders are stepping into the ring for a good cause this weekend. The Inaugural Battle of the Badges is being held Saturday June 15th at Myth live in Maplewood. Money raised will go to benefit the YWCA.

St. Cloud State University is expanding their course offerings in cannabis education to include nine-week career training courses. The online classes are designed to provide students with job specific skills and knowledge to jumpstart their career in the cannabis industry. Upcoming start dates are June 17 and August 5 for the career training courses.

Challenge course opens in Bloomington

Finding a playground in the Twin Cities metro for littles is pretty easy, but a new one in Bloomington is perfect for the teens who want a challenge. The Smith Park Challenge Course is open now in near Interstate 494 and Highway 77. The park includes a timed 40-yard dash race track, an obstacle course for kids ages 13+ and an all-inclusive play structure for all ages. The playground is from local company, MWP Recreation. It’s the second of its kind in the Twin Cities. There’s another challenge course in Golden Valley, two in Jordan and another on the way in Lakeville. The Smith Park Challenge Course is located at 8155 Park Ave. S.

The Minnesota Twins unveiled their new 2024 City Connect Series uniform. The release event features live art and music, free lunch while supplies last, and appearances by players.

Chalkfest returns to Maple Grove this weekend

Chalkfest Maple Grove returns to its original location on Main Street between Elm Creek Boulevard and Arbor Lakes Parkway. It takes place on June 8-9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be 54 large-scale chalk art creations from some of the best chalkers in the world. There will also be a Kids Zone including a chalk art area for families, live music, and food trucks to compliment the restaurants on Main Street.

Meteor bar in Minneapolis racks up the accolades

One of the most "Oustanding Bars" in the country is tucked in an industrial neighborhood in Minneapolis. Meteor has a long history as a dive bar going back 120 years, but the current owners have created something special that’s getting a lot of recognition. The bar made it to the semi-finals of the James Beard Awards for ‘Outstanding Bar’ and has been nominated for the "Best U.S. Bar Team" in the Central Region for the Spirited Awards.

Minneapolis restaurant vying for Best New Restaurant title

A Northeast Minneapolis restaurant is a finalist for Best New Restaurant in the Country from the James Beard Awards. Oro by Nixta is from the chef team of Gustavo and Kate Romero. The pair will head to Chicago on Saturday. Ann Ahmed of Khâluna and Christina Nguyen of Hai Hai are also finalists for Best Chef: Midwest. The ceremony is on Monday, June 10.

Battleground debuts on FOX 9 next week

"Battleground," a new FOX First Run digital initiative, is set to debut on June 10 on FOX 9. It takes a local-first approach to covering the swing states and their electoral votes. Host S.E.
