Minnesota health officials see cases of Delta variant spreading

The Minnesota Department of Health says 99.9% of Minnesotans who are vaccinated have not gotten the coronavirus since. But among those who aren’t vaccinated, the new and highly-transmissible Delta variant of the disease is becoming more widespread.

Nurses union calls on CDC to reinstate universal mask guidelines

In a letter addressed to Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, the National Nurses Union called on the agency to reinstate universal mask-wearing guidelines and to implement more robust data tracking for infections among health care workers and breakthrough cases.

US to send first COVID-19 vaccine doses to Africa

The U.S. will begin making its first COVID-19 vaccine shipments to Africa in the coming days, with the ultimate goal of sharing 25 million doses this summer across the continent in partnership with the African Union.
