New creperie brings French flavors to France Avenue

Oh Crêpe opened over the summer at 44th and France Avenue in Minneapolis, the former location of the first Caribou Coffee. Owner Claire Corvaisier grew up in Brittany, France, the region where crepes originated. The creperie uses traditional recipes for sweet and savory crepes, plus a 25-layer crepe cake sold by the slice. Oh Crêpe is open Wednesday through Monday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Surly preps for Darkness Day, adds Halloween pop-up

Surly Brewing goes all out every year to release its unique imperial stout, Darkness. Darkness Day is a free all-day party on Saturday, Oct. 5, starting at 11 a.m. and ending just before midnight. The event includes live music of the punk and metal genres, live tattooing, and timed taps all day long. Surly has transformed the pizza restaurant upstairs into the Sinister Circus, an October pop-up with fun menu additions and plenty of spooky décor.
