The holiday season can add extra stress in our lives, and for those struggling with addiction this time of year can easily lead to a relapse. Tiffany White from the Minnesota Prevention and Recovery Alliance joined the FOX 9 Morning news to share advice on hosting holiday gatherings if you have a loved one battling addiction.

Inaugural BIPOC Startup Week underway

A Twin Cities entrepreneur is hoping her experience can help others get their start in the business world. Charlotte Epée-WillSuN founded the BIPOC Startup Week after noticing the startup scene lacked racial diversity. The free 3-day event runs through December 9th.

Circus Juventas gets into the holiday spirit with new show

The holidays have arrived under the big top at Circus Juventas. The St. Paul youth circus performing arts school is the largest in the country and packed full of incredible talent. This year’s holiday show is called ‘A Hygge Holiday.’ Here are the show dates and times: • Saturday, December 9 at 1:00 p.m. • Sunday, December 10 at 1:00 p.m. • Saturday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m. • Sunday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. • Sunday, December 17 at 5:00 p.m.

Canvas Convergence 3D art gallery opens in St. Louis Park

Artist Shawn McCann, known for his chalk art and murals, has opened a free pop-up gallery at the Shops at West End in St. Louis Park. Canvas Convergence has several over-sized 3D works of art celebrating the beauty of winter. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the art, creating fun pictures perfect for the gram. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12pm to 8pm and on Sundays from 12pm to 5pm.

Cricket-training facility opens in Minnetonka

The first indoor cricket training facility in the state opened over the weekend in Minnetonka. Eka Sport teamed up with the Minnesota Youth Cricket Academy (MYCA) to find a space they could utilize year-round. Prior to opening this facility, MYCA would use batting cages in the winter, but that doesn’t provide the kind of space needed. MYCA offers programs for beginners through advanced athletes. There are about 70 kids in the program now but with this new space they’re hoping to grow it, as the popularity of the sport surges in the US. Eka Sport is located at 15314 Minnetonka Industrial Rd.

Beauty and the Beast Jr. on stage now

The Stages Theatre Company is inviting you to 'be their guest' in a classic Disney show. Beauty and the Beast Jr. is on stage through December 27th.

Como Conservatory holiday flower show

FOX 9 Garden Guy Dale K visits the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in St. Paul. The conservatory is set up for its holiday flower show, which runs through Jan. 7.

Celebrating National Cookie Day

Monday marks National Cookie Day and in order to celebrate, the local non-profit Cookie Cart joined the FOX 9 Morning news. The organization has been helping teens gain confidence and job skills for the past 35 years.

Goat yoga at the Hayloft in Hastings

The Hayloft offers a 45-minute yoga class taught by a certified instructor with goats that free roam during class. This class is beginner-friendly and suitable for people with or without previous yoga experience.

Boomin’ chocolate business moves into Edina

A local chocolate company is expanding again, but this new ‘Droolin’ Moose’ location is much more than just a retail shop. The 20,000 square foot space at 4545 77th St. W. in Edina will be their new distribution center and house their offices. It is also their 4th retail location. Their other shops are in Bloomington, St. Louis Park and Burnsville.

Uffda Donuts opens in Maple Grove

A new bakery in Maple Grove is making up scratch-made donuts in dozens of flavors; and on certain days, gluten-free and vegan options as well. Uffda Donuts is located at 13716 Grove Dr. N. just off Weaver Lake Road and I-94. The shop is open Wednesday through Sunday.
