Mask making tips perfect for Halloween

In The Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre is getting in the spirit of Halloween. This weekend, they're hosting a mask-decorating workshop. The free event is taking place Saturday from 10am - 2 pm. From October 26-30, the theatre is also hosting The Haunted Avalon: A Puppet Theatre Showcase. The shows feature a series of spooky and funny vignettes that utilize a wide range of puppetry techniques.

Taco Tour returns to Lake Street

A celebration of Latino culture is coming to Lake Street this weekend. The Taco Tour is back in Minneapolis Saturday October 21st from 11am - 4pm. The event features more than 20 Latino-owned businesses. It takes place along Lake Street between 3rd Street and 20th Street.

‘Spooky Trains’ at Twin City Model Railroad Museum

The ‘Night Trains’ season is underway at the Twin City Model Railroad Museum in St. Paul. On Oct.21 and Oct. 28, the train sets will be decked out for Halloween. ‘Spooky Trains’ will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and costumes are encouraged. After Oct. 28, the décor will slowly transition to the holidays with picturesque townscapes covered in snow. The Twin City Model Railroad Museum is nearing its 90th anniversary. It’s located at 668 Transfer Road in St. Paul.

Fans of scary movies and theater can have it all at the Twin Cities Horror Festival. It’s the longest-running theater festival of its kind in the entire country. The festival runs from Oct. 19-29 at the Crane Theater in Northeast Minneapolis.

AHS program addresses vet tech shortage

Right now, there are a lot of veterinarian tech positions open in Minnesota. It's making it difficult to get pets health care appointments. In order to address the shortage, The Animal Humane Society launched their own training program earlier this year. The first group of students graduated in August, and they've already seen high interest in the next two sessions of the training program.

Children's Theatre launches world premiere

Underwater pumpkin carving at Sea Life Minnesota

Sea Life Minnesota’s ocean tunnel is full of beautiful marine life and for the month of October, visitors can also catch sight of costumed divers carving pumpkins underwater. It isn’t the sharks they have to worry about, it’s the very curious Seemore the green sea turtle. The divers will be carving every Thursday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival starts Thursday

National and local comedy acts are coming together for a three day event in the Twin Cities. The 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival features more than 20 shows and nearly 80 comedians. Comedian and festival producer Courtney Baka joined FOX 9 Good Day to talk about the event and what audiences can expect.
