Horse racing returns to the Shakopee racetrack this weekend — with a twist. The horses will be pulling people on skis through a series of snow obstacles. New art exhibit in the peak of winter transports guests to sunny Palm Springs
Artists draw inspiration from the people in the lives and places they’ve seen. And one warm, bright, colorful location is the motivation behind a new exhibition at Minneapolis’ Gamut Gallery. The show is called ‘Astroturf’ but there’s only one sliver of actual AstroTurf in the gallery. Instead, it’s focused on Southern California in the 1950’s, a time when AstroTurf became a front yard staple. The show opens to the public on Friday, February 17th. It will be in place through March 18th. Gamut Gallery is located at 717 10th Street South in Minneapolis.
