Moose fight destroys yard, car in Alaska

Two moose wrought havoc at a home in Homer, Alaska, getting into a bloody fight that caused significant damage to a woman’s front yard and car. Video taken by Holly Keintz on Oct.15 and Oct. 16 shows the moose fighting and the aftermath the following day. Keintz surveys the property damage exclaiming, “It looks like a hurricane went through here”.

Minnesota's plant hardiness zones have changed

The U.S. Department of Agriculture this week unveiled an updated plant hardiness zone map — the first update since 2012 — which has changed the hardiness zones for much of Minnesota.

MN DNR holding meeting on feral pigs, minks

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is wondering what to do about pigs and farmed mink that have been let loose. Hoping to gather perspective on the impacts on the environment and people's health, several Minnesota agencies are asking people to share their perspectives on state management in an online questionnaire. The Minnesota DNR will also host an online public meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. on Nov. 14.
