Asphalt Art aims for intersection safety

A recent study in other cities showed painting brightly colored murals on busy intersections can cut pedestrian crashes by up to 50% and all crashes by 17%, and the City of Minneapolis has received $25,000 from Bloomberg Philanthropies to create the Asphalt Art projects at two intersections throughout the city.

Car starts on fire after crash in Brooklyn Park

Brooklyn Park police two vehicles collided at the intersection of Interstate 694 and County Road 81, causing one of them to start on fire. Police say the vehicle that started on fire is believed to be the one to strike vehicle, the driver of the second vehicle were treated for minor injuries. Occupants of the vehicle on fire, fled from the scene and the driver of the second vehicle was later arrested, according to police.

I-94 crash witness recalls near miss in fiery, chain-reaction pileup

A Twin Cities woman is recounting the scary moments of a fiery wreck last week on I-94 in western Wisconsin. She was just feet away from disaster when authorities say a semi truck caused a chain-reaction crash, bursting into flames in the process.
