U of M opening off-campus safety center in Dinkytown

The University of Minnesota is opening an off-campus safety center in the heart of Dinkytown on Sept. 6. The building on 14th Avenue Southeast will include a study space, safety classroom, student legal services and more.

Olympics bring attention to women's sports

With the Olympics underway, a researcher from the University of Minnesota is in Paris taking part in important conversations centered around girls and women in sports. Anna Goorevich, a research assistant with the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sports, joined FOX 9 to talk about the Equity Summit happening in Paris. She describes how the emphasis on the female athlete has changed, and also why coaches like Team USA/ Lynx Coach Cheryl Reeve needs to be celebrated more.

Talk of tuition hike at U of M

The Board of Regents is set to meet on Thursday to discuss a possible tuition increase at the University of Minnesota. The recommended increase at the Twin Cities campus is 4.5% for in-state students and 5.5% for out-of-state students in the undergraduate and graduate programs.
