Organizations that support first responders said the killing of two police officers and a firefighter-paramedic in Burnsville has taken a huge toll on the people who wear the uniforms and their families.

Longtime friends of firefighter-paramedic Adam Finseth are remembering the fallen first responder, days after he was killed alongside two police officers during a standoff in Burnsville on Feb. 18.

Shannon Gooden was the suspect who shot and killed two Burnsville police officers and one firefighter-paramedic in the early morning hours of Feb. 18, FOX 9 sources confirmed Monday.

Burnsville Officer Paul Elmstrand remembered by his wife. "He loved his job as a police officer and had a strong bond with those he worked with, but he always placed his family first. He had an inner-confidence that was anchored in his faith in Jesus Christ."
