World record pumpkin to get carved at Mall of America

A pumpkin so large it made the Guinness Book of World Records is making its way back to its home state of Minnesota, offering spectators the chance to see its carving at the Mall of America.

Underwater pumpkin carving at Sea Life Minnesota

Sea Life Minnesota’s ocean tunnel is full of beautiful marine life and for the month of October, visitors can also catch sight of costumed divers carving pumpkins underwater. It isn’t the sharks they have to worry about, it’s the very curious Seemore the green sea turtle. The divers will be carving every Thursday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

MN family affected by Huntington’s disease

The Team Hope Walk for Huntington’s disease is in Bloomington this weekend. FOX 9 spoke with one participant, Linda Ingle, who has lost 12 family members to the disease.

MOA Nordstrom shooting trial continues

Haunting experience comes to Mall of America

It’s getting spooky at the Mall of America. The crew behind American Monsters has created a brand new, one-of-a-kind haunted attraction at the mall. It’s located on level 2 in the former vaccination site. The story-driven haunt is called Onionhead’s Revenge. It’s based off a Louisiana folktale so the area has been transformed into the bayou. There are different levels of tickets and experiences within the attraction. It opens Friday, Sept. 15 and will run through Halloween. It’s a no-touch experience but it’s still quite spooky so its recommended that kids be 10 and up.

MOA gunman plea rejected

A teenager charged in the death of 19-year-old Johntae Hudson at Mall of America last year rejected a deal to plead guilty on Friday and will now head to trial on murder charges.

Fire burns at construction site off I-494

A power line down caused a fire at a construction site near I-494 and East Bush Lake Road in Bloomington on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023. Both directions of I-494 were closed due to the wire being down in the highway. Xcel Energy responded to secure the power and remove the wire. The Bloomington Fire Department extinguished the fire and the highway was reopened by 8:23 a.m.
