When Minnesota approved $195 million in state dollars, that unlocked the ability to apply for federal grants. Gingerbread Wonderland at Norway House

Gingerbread Wonderland is back for its ninth year at Norway House in Minneapolis. Anyone can enter their edible creations. This year there are nearly 200 structures including a multi-story Barbie dreamhouse from a mother-daughter team, the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden, Whoville from "The Grinch" and the Como Park Pavilion. The event runs through Jan. 7. Norway House is located at 913 E Franklin Ave. in Minneapolis.

Residents sound off at community meeting about Smith Foundry

During a surprise inspection in May, the EPA determined that Smith Foundry had violated the Clean Air Act. However, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has said it is not seeing any violations of state or federal air quality standards from the facility.
