Gale Woods Farm welcomes dozens of lambs

There’s a baby boom in Minnetrista. Gale Woods Farm has welcomed 42 lambs already this season, and two sheep are still expecting. Gale Woods Farm is run by Three Rivers Park District. It is free to visit and open to the public from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. However, the barn is only open during scheduled events like ‘Saturday Morning on the Farm’, and because of the cooler temperatures, the lambs are still in the barn. You can register on the Three Rivers Park website to attend the Saturday event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Buddy Boy Fine BBQ specializes in wood-fired cooking

A barbecue spot tucked off Highway 7 in Minnestrista is drawing folks from all over the Twin Cities and beyond. Buddy Boy Fine BBQ is 20 years in the making for the Cox family. They started with a food truck that they took all over the country. Executive Chef Joe even spent a few years sleeping in his car while working the food truck on the oil fields. He says he learned the art of wood-fired cooking from his mom who was raised in the mountains of Taiwan in a village without electricity. Buddy Boy Fine BBQ is open Wednesday to Saturday.
