MN weather: Heat advisory for Father's Day

Father's Day will be a hot with a heat advisory in place for the Twin Cities metro Sunday starting at 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Temperatures are expected to feel like 100 degrees. Rain is expected to continue into Saturday night. Cloud cover will linger into Sunday morning, but by the afternoon it's expected to be sunny.

MN weather: Strong thunderstorms possible Wednesday

There's a chance for potentially strong scattered thunderstorms in Minnesota on Wednesday. The metro area could see thundershowers in the morning, with a break in the afternoon, before the next round of thunderstorms appears in the late afternoon into the mid-evening. Much of Minnesota, including the metro, is under a Level 2 slight risk for severe weather, but a portion of northern Minnesota is under a Level 3 enhanced risk.

Spring showers greet us Tuesday morning but will clear out for a sunny and warm afternoon. As a warm front pushes through in the afternoon, isolated storms could redevelop. Portions of eastern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, are under a Level 1 marginal risk for severe weather on Tuesday.
