Thursday will bring summer-like temperatures, with highs reaching into the 80s for the Twin Cities metro and southern Minnesota. Overnight, western rumbles will push toward Minnesota, giving us our next chance of rain on Friday morning.

Wednesday is cooler, brighter, and breezier, with a chance for isolated spotty drips later this afternoon. Afternoon temperatures remain seasonable, with a high of 71 degrees in the Twin Cities metro area.

MN weather: Strong storms, heavy rain possible

Strong storms and heavy rain are possible for Tuesday with the bulk of the activity happening in the afternoon to early evening hours. The Twin Cities metro area is under a Level 2 slight risk for severe weather. Meanwhile, most of southeast Minnesota is under a Level 3 enhanced risk, but those near the Iowa border in the extreme southeast part of the state are under a Level 4 moderate risk.
