MN weather: Cold front causes temps to drop

A cold front heading through the state will drop temperatures tonight and keep things cool Tuesday. But, as the cold front sweeps through, it'll kick out the clouds causing temperatures to rise Wednesday. After Wednesday the week will be warm again, with temperatures in the 40s.

The sun may peak through the clouds later Monday afternoon, but by Tuesday a cold front will move through the state causing the clouds to dissipate. Man made snow on ski hills made for some snow showers in the west metro, all the way to the MSP airport.

Local ski hills that are making snow are actually producing snow showers downwind of the hills Monday morning. This is leading to coatings of snow several miles from the hills themselves. The perfect conditions are needed for this including light winds, temps ~20°, & high relative humidity.
