Heat continues into Oct. causing cancellation

After record-breaking heat on Sunday, the summer-like temperatures are continuing into fall for Minnesota. FOX 9’s Rob Olson catches up with those trying to stay cool one more round, and the aftermath of the Twin Cities Marathon cancellation.

MN weather: Another hot one Monday

After record heat over the weekend, another record could fall on Monday, with highs in the upper 80s to 90s. Dew points will fall a bit, though. Warm again on Tuesday, with isolated rumbles possible. It'll cool off by the end of the week.

MN weather: Warm and sticky Saturday night

Saturday set a potential daily record high of 88 degrees. The previous record in the Twin Cities was set in 1897 at 87 degrees. Overnight temperatures will only drop to around 69 degrees and still feel humid and muggy. The Twin Cities should stay dry, but pop-up thunderstorms are possible in the early hours.

It's going to be a warm weekend. Saturday will be humid, with highs in the mid to upper 60s and a chance of scattered storms in the late afternoon. Sunday's high is 86 degrees for the Twin Cities metro.

Morning storms fade (1-inch + of rain in some of those downpours) and we quickly turn humid. A bright and muggy afternoon as we tease 80 and unsettled storms loom across central Minnesota. We'll see stray strong storms Friday evening and night into early Saturday, then tropical for Saturday and Sunday.
