MN weather: Blustery start to spring

It's officially spring, but it still feels more like winter. Our warmest day of the week is Tuesday with highs in the mid-40s for the Twin Cities metro area, but strong winds will make it feel much cooler. Temperatures drop on Wednesday and stay below average for the remainder of the week.

MN weather: Chilly with less wind Monday

Clouds cleared Monday afternoon, make for a sunny day the rest of Monday. Tuesday will warm things up with an expected high of 48 degrees. The warmth isn't expected to last as temperatures could drop again Wednesday.

MN weather: Cold continues Monday

The cold from over the weekend will continue Monday, with temperatures expected to slowly warm up throughout the week. Clouds will linger Monday morning, but by the afternoon the sun could peak through the clouds. Monday's high temperature is 38 degrees.

Minnesota sets spring burning restrictions

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has already responded to more than 200 wildfires this year amid a winter of high temperatures and low snowfall, according to wildfire prevention specialist Karen Harrison. Anyone who was thinking about burning leaves should reconsider. Especially on dry, windy days, fires can spread easily and get out of control.

Temperatures will be colder to close out the weekend, and those cooler temperatures will linger into the week. The winds will keep up Sunday, but start to die down by Monday.

The breeze will stick around the rest of this weekend. Northwest winds will help pool in colder temperatures for Sunday and Monday. A brief warm-up for Tuesday with highs returning to the 40s.
