Band Box reopens in Minneapolis

A piece of Minneapolis history is back in business. Band Box Diner first opened in 1939 on the corner of 10th Street and 14th Avenue in the Elliot Park Neighborhood. At one time, there were 15 locations, but by the 70’s only the original remained. In 1998, Brad and Heather Ptacek took over. They ran it up until the pandemic shutdown in March of 2020. On September 14th, three years after it closed, the Facebook page came back to life with the post ‘We’re Back.’ The diner is open Wednesday to Friday, 9am to 3pm and on Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
