Hats and Mittens asks for winter clothes donations

Calling all knitters, or anyone with an extra set of hats, mittens or gloves buried in the back of your closet. The nonprofit Hats and Mittens has received requests for a massive amount of winter gear. When Hats and Mittens opened their portal in October, 185 groups submitted requests for more than 21,000 sets of hats and mittens in just two days. That’s a total of 42,000 pieces of winter attire, which will surpass the total number of hats and mittens handed out last year.
