This injured manatee was rescued as nearby brush fires in the Florida Keys made the standard operation a little more complicated than normal. The nine-foot male was “assessed as suffering from a pneumothorax condition where air accumulates in the space between the lung and chest wall,” according to the Dolphin Research Center’s Manatee Rescue Team.
