Minnesota soccer player hoping to help Team USA qualify for Tokyo Olympics
Olympic qualifying is underway for U.S. men’s soccer and a Minnesota native is playing a vital role toward helping the Americans get to Tokyo. Jackson Yueill is a graduate of Jefferson High School in Bloomington. He played soccer there his freshman year before moving on to play for the Minnesota Thunder Academy, where he was coached by his dad. He got noticed by Team USA officials and now captains the U.S. under 23 squad. Team USA opened Olympic qualifying with a 1-0 win over Costa Rica. They’re scheduled to battle the Dominican Republic on Sunday.
