It was a slippery commute for drivers in the Twin Cities metro this morning with long drive times and numerous crashes and spin outs.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported 85 crashes, 11 with injuries, in the metro and 22 vehicle spin outs. Across the state there were 115 crashes, 15 with injuries, and 38 vehicle spin outs.

The National Weather Service recorded 0.8 inches of snow fell at Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport. Other parts of the metro saw over an inch of snow, with 1.3 inches recorded in Eden Prairie, 1.2 in Golden Valley and 2.5 in Woodbury.

There is the possibility for another late afternoon burst of snow Friday evening, which would put down a fresh dusting on the roads just in time for the evening commute.
