LITCHFIELD, Minn. (KMSP) - Tornadoes touched down in the central Minnesota towns of Litchfield and Watkins early Monday evening, causing significant damage. Litchfield Mayor Keith Johnson told Fox 9 no one was injured in his city, but 10 to 15 homes were damaged. The mayor said this is the worst tornado damage he has ever seen in the city.
Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze said Monday's storm damaged a couple of trailer homes and two other homes will be a total loss. According to Eden Valley Fire and Rescue, one elderly woman had minor injuries in Watkins.
"The siren was going. We have a storm shelter so we left and we were down there and I looked to the southwest and saw stuff flying into the air,” said Watkins resident Diane Kelbing.

In Stearns County, public safety officials and public works crews were assessing the storm damage Monday night. The most property damage in the county was reported in Luxemburg and Maine Prairie Townships . In addition to personal property damage, drivers need to be cautious as there could be downed trees, branches and debris on roadways.
The St. Cloud metro area is dealing with flooded roads. Waite Park, St. Cloud and Sartell have reported flooded roads and Sartell was in the process of barricading roads that were underwater Monday night.
