Wind and rains dominate most of Tuesday

Plenty of rain and wind met most Minnesotans on Tuesday after a pleasant stretch of above-average temperatures earlier in the week.

Parts of Minnesota saw some impressive rain totals from Tuesday into Wednesday, as dreary and wet weather swept across the state.

The heaviest rain appeared to be west of the metro with some areas getting over 2 inches of rain. The metro area had closer to 1–2 inches of rain, while southeast Minnesota saw generally an inch or less.

Here are some rain totals:

  • Waconia 2.45 inches
  • Rockford 2.06 inches
  • Hutchinson 2.02 inches
  • Roseville 1.74 inches
  • Burnsville 1.72 inches
  • MSP 1.66 inches
  • Eden Prairie 1.61 inches
  • Minneapolis 1.60 inches
  • Blaine 1.53 inches
  • Forest Lake 1.52 inches
  • Maple Grove 1.40 inches
  • Lakeville 1.36 inches
  • St. Paul 1.03 inches
  • Woodbury 0.92 inch
  • Rosemount 0.88 inch
  • Hastings 0.7 inch

The rain isn't over just yet. Showers will continue to press through the metro overnight until the rain clears out by Wednesday afternoon.
